Since Park’s founding in 1912, the school has sought to enroll the most capable and talented students. By supplementing family tuition contributions, our Tuition Assistance Program seeks to make a Park School education affordable for families from a wide range of economic backgrounds.

Our Tuition Assistance Program supports students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. In 2026, over $8.2 million was awarded to 325 students, including 40 new students. Household incomes for students participating in the Tuition Assistance Program range from under $42,000 to over 200,000.

At Park School, we understand that affordability is relative, and each family situation is unique. For this reason, Park is committed to using a personalized assessment process to calculate tuition assistance. While every family is expected to pay some portion of education costs, these need-based grants help bridge the gap between what families can reasonably be expected to contribute and the full cost of a Park education.

Determining Family Contribution

To be consistent, objective, and equitable, Park, like many independent schools, relies on the needs analysis of Ravenna Financial Aid. Ravenna Financial Aid considers many factors when estimating a family’s tuition contribution. The most significant of these is family income, but others include:

• Assets (investments, home equity, automobile, etc.).
• Family size.
• Number of children attending tuition-charging institutions.
• Age of parents.
• Current debt (credit cards, mortgages, other loans, etc.).

After an allowance is made for basic living expenses and taxes, the remaining funds are considered discretionary income, a portion of which is assumed available for education.

Park School uses the Ravenna Financial Aid calculation as a basis for determining your family’s expected contribution toward education. However, Park’s calculated parent contribution may differ from that of Ravenna Financial Aid due to our consideration of additional household information or Park-specific program policies. For example, Park will add a full-time income for a parent able, but not currently working, and will disallow losses attributable to second homes, investment properties, hobby businesses, and certain types of depreciation.

On the other hand, Park may allow certain expenses that are disallowed in the Ravenna Financial Aid calculation. We recognize that numbers on paper do not always paint an accurate financial picture. Therefore, we encourage you to speak with the Director of Enrollment Management and Tuition Assistance to ensure information is complete, accurate, and clear.

How to Apply

All families, whether currently enrolled or applying for admission, apply online for tuition assistance. The benefit of electronic filing is that Park receives information accurately and quickly, allowing for a prompt decision about your eligibility for tuition assistance. 

Beginning on September 1, 2026 apply at RAVENNA FINANCIAL AID (FORMERLY SSS).

This secure website provides clear step-by-step instructions and online help to ensure successful submission of information. Note: Our school’s Ravenna Financial Aid code is 5668.
Application deadline is December 1.

• As a Returning Family, log into your account to begin your application. Complete one application even if you have several children applying to the same school. Parents who are divorced, separated, or who have never married, must each complete an application — one per household
• If you are new to Ravenna Financial Aid (formerly SSS), you will create a username and password that will allow you to return to your application as often as needed. You will also be able to track the receipt of documents so you will know the status of your application. Returning users should log in with their previous SSS username to assure that all information submitted for your family is tracked properly.
• Consent to the IRS integration tool used to import all required tax data directly into your Ravenna Financial Aid application from the IRS. (If you do not provide IRS consent you will not be eligible for the Ravenna Financial Aid Easy Apply “short form,” and you will need to upload all tax documents manually.)
• Upload all required non-tax documents to your Parent Portal.
• If you have technical questions about applying online, use the multi-lingual in-product chat feature.

Notification of Tuition Assistance Grants

New admission applicants are notified of tuition assistance decisions along with the admission decision on February 18, 2027. Both decision letters will be viewable in the student’s Ravenna portal. Currently enrolled families with a new child applying to Park will also view their applicant child’s tuition assistance decision letter in their Ravenna portal. Currently enrolled families who are not involved in the admission application process will receive tuition assistance notifications in their Veracross parent portal during the re-enrollment period.

All tuition assistance grants are considered preliminary until final (2026) federal tax documents have been reviewed and verified. We encourage families to file their 2026 federal taxes prior to April 1, 2027 for prompt processing. All relevant financial data found on the 1040 tax returns, schedules, W2 and/or 1099 forms will be automatically posted to Ravenna Financial Aid accounts by the IRS for parents enrolled in the IRS Integration process. Families that plan to file an extension must notify the tuition assistance office by April 1. Those who are not enrolled in IRS Integration must upload the relevant tax documents to their account by April 1.

Important Policies

• Admission committees review applications without regard to financial need. Decisions about tuition assistance are made separately.
• Tuition assistance is available only for students applying for admission to Kindergarten through Grade 12.
• New applicants must complete the online tuition assistance process at Ravenna Financial Aid by December 1.
• Note: Please include our school code (5668) on your application to assure that we receive your materials in a timely manner.
• Families enrolling at Park without the use of tuition assistance funding are expected to contribute at full tuition amounts in subsequent years. In the case of a change in family circumstances, including enrolling additional children at Park, or any other school requiring tuition, families may apply for tuition assistance consideration.
