Upper School Music Teacher Adele Dinerstein Nominated for GRAMMY Music Educator Award
Congratulations to Upper School music teacher Adele Dinerstein on her nomination for the GRAMMY’s Music Educator Award! Part of Adele’s first graduating class, Danny Meltzer ’96 nominated her for the award. “I certainly feel that she is an outstanding teacher,” Danny said. “I took music theory classes with her and still draw upon that foundation of knowledge regularly in my work as a sound engineer. She was extremely generous with time and resources and critical thinking about all kinds of music. I have a lot of peers that came through Park with a high level of musicality…and I am sure that is in no small part due to Adele.”
In partnership with the GRAMMY Foundation, the Recording Academy has launched this award to bring attention and recognition to the teaching profession in general, and to school music teachers in particular. Ten finalists will be selected, each receiving an award along with a monetary grant; the winner will be flown to Los Angeles to accept the Award and attend the GRAMMYs in February 2017.
Danny studied film production at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and screenwriting with the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain in London. He currently works as a sound editor and field recordist in Baltimore and New York.
