Extended Day
Park School’s Extended Day program is a natural extension of the school day, offering Lower School students a welcoming place to play, create, and explore.

Rooted in the same values that shape the Park experience, Extended Day is relationship-driven with caring staff who know our students well and create a warm, home-baked environment where children feel a strong sense of belonging. Afternoons unfold with a balance of outdoor play, open-ended games, arts and crafts, quiet spaces for reading or homework, and plenty of time for conversation, imagination, and connection.
Locations and Pick-up Procedures
The Extended Day program takes place in locations throughout the school in areas familiar to students at each developmental level. Park faculty and staff help students transition from school-day activities into the Extended Day program.
- Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students gather in the Kindergarten Building’s multipurpose room.
- 1st and 2nd Graders gather in their grade-level pods adjacent to the respective grade’s classrooms.
- 3rd-5th Graders gather in the Cafeteria.
Park School uses the Procare app for pick-up procedures. Parents will be given a four-digit pin number that they are required to use to sign children out on iPads available at each Extended Day site. Each site has an experienced, trained site leader who connects with parents as they arrive to support the pick-up process. Click here to review the specific instructions about pick-up locations.
Enrollment Options
When determining which enrollment option to choose, families should consider their child’s age and temperament. Some students, particularly in the younger grades, function best with an early pick-up.
ANNUAL OR SEASONAL REGISTRATION
Families may register for an annual contract or by the season (fall, winter, and spring). Families may choose between coverage until 4:30 p.m. or 6 p.m. as well as anywhere from one to five days per week.
DROP-IN SERVICE
Students not scheduled to attend Extended Day by contract may attend as drop-ins. Extended Day should be indicated on the morning check-in sheet in the child’s classroom. If a parent is unsure that a child is aware of their Extended Day attendance or if the child’s dismissal plan has changed to Extended Day, parents should make the Lower School office aware of the change. Drop-in fees are billed at the end of each month in CampBrain. All families are asked to email [email protected] or call the Lower School Office (410-339-4195) by 2 p.m. to inform them of the plan to attend.
Please note that all children must have a completed “Extended Day” medical form in order to participate in the program. Families will complete this form in person when picking up their child from Extended Day during the first few weeks of school.
Program Fees
The fee schedules reflect coverage for each season and the full year. Fees are due in CampBrain shortly after each season begins (September; November; February). Registration is open for a period of time prior to each season. Fees are not subject to reduction nor will refunds be offered for non-use of Extended Day due to absences, vacations, student activities, changes in plans, withdrawal, or school closings.
The annual pricing option is not available after the payment deadline for the fall season. Please note, too, that the annual pricing option is a commitment to participate in the program for the entire year and will not be prorated for reduced service usage. Similarly, season fees are not prorated for late registration or for reduced service usage.

Discounts are applied by the After-School Programs Office after registration and before the first installment is processed. The savings will be evenly distributed across all three installment payments.

Parents are expected to pick up children on time. Parents arriving late for a 4:30 p.m. pick-up time will be charged an additional $15 until 6 p.m. Parents arriving after 6 p.m. will be charged a late fee of $30 per quarter hour or any part thereof.
Navigating Extended Day & Enrichment Registration
Extended Day and Enrichment Classes are complementary programs designed to work together, but they have distinct registration processes and fee structures. Annual Extended Day contracts cannot be modified mid-year, and enrollment in Enrichment Classes does not automatically adjust standalone Extended Day fees. Families should select their Extended Day contract based on the amount of standalone Extended Day coverage they need after accounting for any days covered through the Enrichment & Extended Day option.
Flexible Day-of-Week Model
Extended Day contracts are based on the number of days per week your child needs care (for example, a 2-day, 3-day, or 4-day contract), not on specific days of the week. Families may use their contracted days on whichever days work best for their schedule, and those days may change from week to week (or season to season). Contracted days must be used within the same week and do not roll over, carry forward, or transfer to future weeks if unused.
Choosing the Right Contract Type
ANNUAL CONTRACT
Best for families whose total number of standalone Extended Day days needed per week remains the same throughout the fall, winter, and spring seasons.
SEASONAL CONTRACT
Recommended for families whose total number of standalone Extended Day days changes from season to season or whose Enrichment Class participation varies throughout the year.
New for 2026–27: Enrichment & Extended Day Option
Families whose children remain in Extended Day after an Enrichment Class ends may choose a discounted Enrichment & Extended Day option during Enrichment registration.
When registering for an Enrichment Class, families will see two options:
- Enrichment Only: Includes the class only; pickup is between 4:30–4:45 p.m.
- Enrichment & Extended Day: Includes the class plus Extended Day coverage afterward; pickup is available until 6:00 p.m.
Important: Days covered through the Enrichment & Extended Day option should not also be included in your standalone Extended Day contract. For example, if your child needs care 5 days per week and one of those days is covered through an Enrichment & Extended Day registration, you would select a 4-day Extended Day contract.
How This Works in Practice
Example 1: Annual Contract (Same Need Throughout the Year)
Need: A family needs care five days per week throughout the year and plans to enroll their child in one enrichment class each season.
Registration approach:
- The family selects an Annual 4-Day Extended Day Contract to cover the four standalone Extended Day days needed each week.
- During Enrichment Class registration, the family selects the Enrichment & Extended Day option for one class each season.
Example 2: Seasonal Contracts (Changing Needs Throughout the Year)
Need: A family needs four total days of care per week, but their enrichment class participation changes each season.
Registration approach:
- Select a Seasonal Extended Day Contract based on the number of standalone Extended Day days needed:
- Fall: One Enrichment Class → 3-Day Extended Day Contract
- Winter: Two Enrichment Classes → 2-Day Extended Day Contract
- During Enrichment registration, the family selects the Enrichment & Extended Day option for each class.

Extended Day is not offered on days the Lower School is closed.

- October 29: Parent/Teacher Conference day
- November 6: Parent/Teacher Conference day
- March 5: Parent/Teacher Conference day
