Middle and Upper School Music Ensembles Participate in “Music in the Parks” Festival at Hershey Park

This spring, vocal and instrumental ensembles from both Middle and Upper School participated in the Music in the Parks festival at Hershey Park. Music in the Parks offers student musicians feedback from professional adjudicators on their musicianship, skill, and more. After the performances, the festival concluded with an awards ceremony, where our musicians’ talents were recognized and many received ratings of excellence for their performances!

Middle School received the following awards:

  • Chamber Strings won 1st Place for middle school orchestra
  • Middle School Strings Orchestra won 1st Place for second middle school string orchestra
  • Middle School Concert Band won 2nd Place for Middle School Concert Band
  • Middle School Chorus won 2nd Place for middle school mixed choir

Upper School received the following awards:

  • Park Jazz Collective won 1st Place for high school jazz ensemble
  • String Ensemble won 2nd Place for high school string orchestra
  • Wind Ensemble won 2nd Place for high school concert band
  • Vocal Chords won 1st Place for high school men’s choir
  • Eightnotes won 2nd Place for high school women’s choir
  • Parkappella won 1st Place for high school mixed choir

Overall Special Awards:

  • Jonah Kelemen won Overall Jazz Soloist
  • Liam Hamilton won Overall Vocalist
