Sean Donmoyer
Kindergarten HomeroomSean is a Kindergarten Homeroom teacher. As an early elementary educator, Sean loves watching student’s ideas grow through play, conversation, and exploration. “I work hard to cultivate a safe space for students to explore, wonder, experiment, make mistakes, and try again. I also love taking students outside, noticing what is happening in the natural world, and using their questions as starting points for learning.”
Most recently, Sean was a 1st Grade Homeroom teacher at Calvert School, where he had also previously taught Spanish for Pre-K through Grade 4. Prior to working at Calvert, Sean was Assistant Director of Athletics at Roland Park Country School and spent 10 years there teaching, coaching, and working with students in athletics and leadership programs. “My teaching has always centered on hands-on, experiential learning and creating spaces where students have both a sense of belonging and a voice in their learning.”
Sean holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from Towson University and an M.Ed. from Goucher College. In 2026, he co-facilitated a full-day workshop, Experiential Education in Action at the Maryland Zoo, at the ISEEN (Independent School Experiential Education Network) Winter Institute. “I am happiest when learning takes me outside. I love exploring trails (on foot and/or mountain bike), listening to and playing music, reading, houseplants and gardens, and just being outside in general. I have been fortunate enough to travel and learn in many different places including Costa Rica, Mexico, Spain, and Peru. These experiences have reinforced my belief that some of the most meaningful learning happens when we step outside what is familiar and pay attention to the world around us.”
