Ruthie Sachs Kalvar ’85

In her role as Director of Admission, Ruthie works with the Admission team to attract, enroll, and retain all Park students and their families. These efforts are collaborative partnerships with the Communications and Marketing team, the Parents’ Association, Park faculty, staff, and current parents, all of whom contribute to the shaping of the Park community.

As the Director of Upper School Admission, Ruthie works with students applying to Grades 9-12. She most enjoys getting to know applicant families and sharing with them all that Park has to offer.

Prior to returning to Baltimore and joining the Admission team as an Associate Director, Ruthie worked in New York, primarily in communications and marketing, supporting patient advocacy divisions of healthcare companies. A member of the Class of 1985, Ruthie convinced her husband to move their four children back to Baltimore in 2008 so that they could experience Park as she, her dad, sisters, and cousins did. And it was the best decision!

Ruthie earned a B.A. in Urban Studies, with a minor in French, from the University of Pennsylvania. She is the parent of two Park alums in the Classes of 2015 and 2018, and two students in the Class of 2024. She loves all things Bruin.
