Pete Hilsee

Director of Communications and Marketing

As the Director of Communications and Marketing, Pete leads the school’s efforts to effectively document and share the work we do at Park.

In support of community-building, enrollment, and fundraising, Pete and the Park Communications team develop print publications and digital content, manage the school’s website and primary social media accounts, capture photo and video, design and produce graphics and on-campus signage, advance marketing and public relations initiatives, support community events, and continually generate creative ways to celebrate learning at Park. The work is inspired by and responsive to students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, prospective families, the Greater Baltimore community, and educators across the country.

Pete is a Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Grand Gold Design Award winner. His design work has been recognized for not only its clarity and creativity, but also for how it effectively reflects the purpose of The Park School and its values.

Prior to joining the Park community in 2011, Pete served as the Director of Communications and Marketing at the American Visionary Art Museum. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Brown University, and a Master of Arts degree from the School of Communications Design at the University of Baltimore (UB). In a juried competition, his culminating Master’s project won the highest honor and he also received UB’s Ampersand Award for exceptional achievement in writing and design. Pete has taught design at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Pete and his wife, First Grade Assistant Catherine Hilsee, are the parents of a Park student in the Class of 2025.

Pete collaborated with the architects at Hord Coplan Macht on the design of the energy-saving shade fins on Park’s new (2023) Science + Engineering Wing:
