Laura Jacoby

Lower School Science

As a Lower School special area teacher, Laura explores science ideas and skills with children in Pre-K through second grade.

Laura’s work in the sciences took her to Halifax, Nova Scotia, at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO) in the Biological Oceanography Division. For 11 years, she taught high school science within the International Schools system — in Belgium, Finland, and Israel — before landing in Baltimore and Park School.

Laura earned a B.Sc. in Botany, from the University of British Columbia, and a B.Ed. in Science Education and M.Sc. in Biology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is the parent of three Park alumni, one in the Class of 2019 and two in the Class of 2022. Publications include: Harrison, W.G. and Laura J.E Wood, 1988, Limnology and Oceanography 33:3
