Karla Villa

First Grade Homeroom

As a first grade homeroom teacher, Karla supports students in providing a rich learning environment that attends to the social, emotional, and academic needs of each individual child.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in arts, Karla “found her true passion working with children.” In 2017, she joined the Bryn Mawr Little School, teaching Pre-K and Kindergarten students, and working on a bilingual curriculum. In 2020, she received her certification as a Montessori Guide at Princeton Montessori and then taught early childhood education at Greenspring Montessori in Baltimore, supporting the dual-language mission of the school by delivering lessons in English and Spanish.

Karla has also worked as a lead counselor in Park’s summer camps.

Karla holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from Universidad Latinoamericana in Mexico, and a Montessori Guide Certification from Princeton Center for Teacher Education. She is currently pursuing her master’s in education from Goucher College.

“In my time off, I have been enjoying learning how to grow a veggie garden. I also love yoga and taking care of my indoor plants.”
