Julia Strouse ’20
Middle School MathJulia teaches Middle School math to 6th and 7th Graders. “My goal is to create a classroom environment where students feel free to take risks and make mistakes that will then guide their learning.”
Julia graduated Summa Cum Laude from Elon University with a B.A. in Middle Grades Education (concentration in Math) and Policy Studies. During her senior year, she student-taught full-time in the Alamance-Burlington School System (ABSS) in a 6th Grade math classroom. Prior to senior year, she spent time at several ABSS schools as a teaching assistant and tutor in Grades 2-8.
Julia was also involved in several on-campus initiatives, including working as a Peer Educator for the First-Year Academic Advising Course, as an Office Assistant in Disabilities Resources, and as a Campus Tour Guide. She also served as the Student Representative on the Teacher Education Committee for the School of Education.
Julia is a Park School graduate with the Class of 2020. She has her Professional Educator’s License for Mathematics 6-9 in North Carolina. Julia’s publications include a Policy Brief entitled “Access to Educational Disabilities Resources in K-12 Schools” –Published by the Phoenix Policy Institute in Spring 2023.
During the summers, Julia works at a local performing arts camp as the Director’s Assistant, Camp Counselor, and Dance Teacher.
