Park Welcomes Jordan Ifueko as 2026 Peter Baida ’68 Writer-in-Residence
Last week, we welcomed author Jordan Ifueko as our 2026 Peter Baida ’68 Middle School Writer-in-Residence.
Jordan Ifueko is a New York Times best-selling author who writes fantasy for young adults and middle grades. She is best known for her RAYBEARER series and the Disney-Marvel comics MOON GIRL & DEVIL DINOSAUR.
Ifueko spent the day sharing her story and leading writing workshops with the 6th Grade. Her energy and passion for storytelling were contagious as she worked with students on the importance of world-building and the art of crafting impactful first lines. Students were excited to write and share their first lines, using “charm” and “curiosity” as writing techniques. The 6th grade is now thoroughly enjoying reading and discussing autographed copies of her brand new middle grade fantasy novel, The Genie Game, in language arts class while also creating fiction pieces of their own.
