Park Robotics Advances to District Championship!
A big congratulations to our Upper School Robotics Team, 1719 The Umbrella Corporation, on their second successful competition last weekend where they secured a place in the 2026 FIRST® District Championship! The team and their robot “Turbo” also took home awards for “Industrial Design” and “Team Spirit”! The team will compete at Virginia State University April 9-12.
Over the past four months, our team has been working together to achieve the common goal of building a robot from the ground up — coding it, improving it, and getting it ready for competition day. Thank you to everyone who came to support or volunteer. It was so great to see teamwork and engineering in action!
FIRST Tech Challenge teams are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and working as a team.
