Park School Basketball League

The Park School of Baltimore is making certain of its campus space(s) available for practice and play for area basketball teams as part of the Park School Basketball League. The above identified and undersigned is a coach of a team that will be participating in the Park School Basketball League. In consideration for being provided with access to Park School’s facilities in connection with the Park School Basketball League, I agree as follows:

Respect and Sportsmanship:

The Park School Basketball League maintains a strict, zero-tolerance policy for abusive behavior, poor sportsmanship, and unsafe conduct. I will model positive behavior, treating all players, opposing coaches, referees, league officials, and spectators with dignity and respect.

I will not engage in any form of physical, verbal, or emotional abuse. Profanity, intimidation tactics, and aggressive behavior toward officials, athletes, or fans are strictly prohibited.

I understand and acknowledge that The Park School and its personnel reserve the absolute right to eject me from the premises, suspend me from future games, or permanently ban me and/or my team from the league without a refund if I violate this Code of Conduct.

Supervision:

I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that I am appropriately supervising my team at all times while they are on the Park School campus. I understand that the supervision of any persons on the Park School campus in connection with my use of the facilities is not the responsibility or liability of the Park School of Baltimore or its employees, staff, or representatives. If I fail to supervise any persons on the School’s campus in connection with my use of the facilities, Park School may prohibit me from further accessing the campus.

Facility Care:

I understand that I will be expected to access only those areas which are designated by the Park School for use by the Park School Basketball League, as well as areas necessary to access those areas designated by Park School. I will respect The Park School’s facilities, including by ensuring my team cleans up our bench area after games and adheres to all campus rules.

During my use of the facilities, Park School retains the right, management, and control of the facilities and the right to enforce all rules, regulations, statutes, and ordinances normally applicable. I agree to abide by all such rules, regulations, statutes, and ordinances and agree that the Park School’s enforcement of such rules, regulations, statutes, and ordinances will not give rise to any claims, for damages or otherwise by me, directly or indirectly resulting from such enforcement. In particular, I am made aware by this agreement that Park School prohibits the use of tobacco or illegal drugs, that the campus is a smoke-free environment, and that alcoholic beverages may not be served. I specifically agree that I shall abide by and adhere to any such school regulations as Park School may implement.

I understand that this agreement is not a lease and conveys no interest of any kind in the facilities or any property of the Park School other than a license to reasonably use the facilities under the terms and conditions set forth in this agreement.

Independent Status of Coaches:

I understand and acknowledge that I am participating in the league as an independent coach and not as an employee, agent, or representative of The Park School of Baltimore. This agreement shall not create any partnership or other kind of venture between the Park School and me. I am solely responsible for my conduct, the conduct of my team, and compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Visitor Management System:

I understand that, upon my arrival to the Park School campus, I will be expected to follow all procedures for visitors to campus, including but not limited to, providing adequate government-issued identification to be screened in the Raptor Visitor Management System. I understand that the Raptor Visitor Management System will screen my identification across a database of registered sex offenders and other flags and that failure to successfully clear a Raptor screening will result in Park’s prohibiting my access to its campus.

Indemnification and Assumption of Responsibility:

Park School shall assume no liability for any loss, including illness, bodily injury, personal injury, or property damage resulting from my negligence or malfeasance, or the negligence or malfeasance of my team. I assume full risk with respect to my use of the facilities. I agree to assume full responsibility for any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to my actions, omissions, or the actions of my team. I further agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Park School, its trustees, employees, agents, and representatives from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from my participation in the league or use of school facilities, except to the extent caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of The Park School.
