Happy Winter Break!

Park Community —

Each year, the Park School Winter Assembly is an opportunity for all of our students and employees to come together as a Pre-K–12 community prior to departing for winter break. The assembly features festive musical performances, reflections on the holidays by our Middle and Upper School student speakers, special poems read by students representing the Lower School, and appearances by faculty musicians. We adjourn by joining together for an all-school sing-along: “Here We Come A-Wassailing.”

This year, like last year, required a pivot. Since we cannot all gather indoors, our Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools each held their own spirited assemblies — and afterwards, all students, faculty, and staff were able to come together at the front of school and sing!

cathartic(!) rendition of “Let it Go” (from Frozen) was followed by our traditional Wassailing with students and faculty spontaneously, joyously linking arms. This rare and wonderful opportunity to be together and to share a collective moment as a community was much needed, greatly appreciated, and certainly a fitting send-off to the break.

I want to express my gratitude to the entire Park community for the strength, love, and support shared throughout 2021. I’m sharing here a look back at these past few months at school, including a glimpse of today’s festivities, in the brief video montage above.

Love and joy come to you,
And to you your wassail, too!

I wish you a safe, healthy, and happy new year.
