Postscript got the Gold, again! The Columbia Scholastic Press Association awarded the 2017-18 Postscript, our student newspaper, a Gold Medalist Critique, bringing the paper’s total to eight Gold Critiques in the last 15 years. The Columbia Scholastic Press Association, a department of Columbia University, was established in 1925 to help improve student publications.

Congratulations to 2017-18 Editors-in-chief Lizzie Kane 18, Spencer Levitt ’18, Montana Love ’18, and to all editors and writers who contributed.

“The Park staff’s writing is excellent. You all write clean, clear, journalistic prose, and it was a pleasure reading such well-written articles that follow standard, professional style and structure…The Park school — its administrators, students, faculty and Board of Directors — is lucky to have such a wonderful paper help fulfill the school’s mission to have a school open to student thought and input.” — an excerpt from the judge’s overall comments

More about Postscript: A wholly extra-curricular activity, the newspaper is staffed by highly motivated and dedicated editors and writers who spend hours after school and during weekends to create a newspaper that reflects their sense of news, commentary, features, arts, and sports. As a student-run organization, the content and look of the paper are the responsibility of its editors, and the school fully supports this effort by giving them the freedom to publish openly.
