Park Welcomes Michele Kelemen as 2024-25 Weinberg Resident Journalist
Yesterday, Park welcomed Diplomatic Correspondent Michele Kelemen to campus as our 2024-25 Robert L. Weinberg Resident Journalist.
Kelemen has been with NPR for two decades, starting as NPR’s Moscow bureau chief and now covering the State Department and Washington’s diplomatic corps. Her reports can be heard on all NPR News programs, including Morning Edition and All Things Considered.
Kelemen addressed the Upper School in an assembly, speaking about her path into journalism, her experiences reporting internationally, and the challenges facing today’s evolving media landscape. She also participated in an on-stage question and answer panel with our Postscript Editors-in-Chief, Zach M. ’25 and Emma B. ’25. In the afternoon, she held two workshops for Upper School students about Audio Storytelling and Fact Checking and Disinformation.
The Resident Journalist program at Park is sponsored by the family of Robert L. Weinberg, a member of the Class of 1940 and devotee of Baltimore journalist H.L. Mencken. Through the Weinberg family’s generous support, Park is able to bring a prominent journalist doing ground-breaking work to campus each year to present to Upper School students and to meet with classes throughout the day.
