Park Welcomes Katherine Marsh as 2025 Peter Baida ’68 Writer-in-Residence

Category:

Last week, we welcomed Katherine Marsh as our 2025 Peter Baida ’68 Middle School Writer-in-Residence.

Katherine is an award-winning author of novels for middle-grade readers including The Lost Year; Nowhere Boy; The Night Tourist; Medusa: The Myth of Monsters and a sequel, The Gods’ Revenge. Her latest series is set in a boarding school for the descendants of Greek mythological monsters.

During her visit, she worked with 6th Graders to develop their own myth retellings, encouraging them to give voice to characters whose perspectives are often overlooked. Students learned about Katherine’s personal journey to becoming an author (which started from a love of reading in Middle School), and workshopped and shared their own stories. Thank you for a great day, Katherine!
