Artists’ Reception for the 2026 Winter Exhibition “World Builders 2”

Yesterday was the Artists’ Reception for the 2026 winter exhibition, World Builders 2. Spanning the Richman Gallery, Davison Lobby, and Library Gallery, the show includes work by Garry Cerrone, Genevieve Cohn, Tatiana Nelson-Joseph, Bruce Willen, and Park School students.

In addition to the upcoming visit by 2026 Diana Lee Fox ’75 Resident Artist Bruce Willen, two artists visited earlier this winter to work with students in preparation for the show. In January, Lower School art teacher Katie Peck’s second grade students had the opportunity to work with Genevieve Cohn, whose paintings are featured in the winter exhibition. After learning together about bowerbird nests, Genevieve shared her process of creating artful bower nests by collecting meaningful objects in the woods. The entire second grade class then worked with Cohn to build their own nests in small groups. Each group’s nest reflected unique thinking about color, protection, materials, space, and warmth.

In December, Haitian artist Alphonse Piard (Alpi) visited Park and led an authentic Haitian fanal workshop for Upper School French students. Alpi began with a brief presentation on the historical and cultural context of fanal art and worked with students to assemble the fanals. Kindergarten and Lower School students also learned about — and created — their own fanals with Lower School PE teacher Stadine Harris and kindergarten teacher Martine Foster, sharing insights into their Haitian culture.

World Builders 2 is on view through the end of February — make sure you come by and check it out!
