How to Apply

The Park School welcomes applications for all grades for the 2023-2024 school year. Main entry points are Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grades 1, 6, and 9. Children must be four years old by September 1 to apply for Pre-Kindergarten.

APPLYING TO PARK

STEP 1: PARENT INTERVIEW

Schedule parent interviews to occur between September 15 and January 20 by using the scheduling tools in the Admission Portal.

STEP 2: APPLICATION

Click HERE to get started and to access the Admission Portal. (Please note: The following forms and application fee are due December 1.)

  • Parent Statement
    Information about the Parent Statement can be found in the Admission Portal. Statements may be submitted via the Admission Portal as a Word document or a pdf. 
  • Application Form and Fee
    A fee of $60 must accompany each new application. A $15 late fee is added to applications received after January 2. Pay online via credit card using your Application Portal.
  • International Applicants: Please click HERE.

STEP 3: STUDENT ASSESSMENT

  • A 45-minute Gesell Developmental Assessment will be administered individually via Zoom.
    Weekday mornings: December 5-16
    Saturdays: December 3, 10 and January 7, 14, and 21
    Please schedule an assessment for your child via the Admission Portal
  • Applicants to Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 also spend 90 minutes in a Small Group Visit on Saturdays. To schedule, please call the Admission Office at 410-339-4130 or email admission@parkschool.net after you’ve scheduled the Gesell Assessment. Please note: The Small Group Visit must be scheduled on a day different from the Gesell Assessment.

STEP 4: SEND FORMS TO CURRENT SCHOOL

Admission decisions are based on careful assessment of the student’s ability to achieve academic, social, and personal success at Park. Each decision is made on an individual basis. We consider classroom performance and disposition toward learning, test results, special talents or abilities, and attendance and conduct records.

Decision letters are emailed on February 16, 2023.

You may schedule your child’s visit to occur between October –January.

Your child may come to campus for an in-person shadow visit (Please note: In-person visits may become virtual as health guidelines dictate).

STEP 4: SEND FORMS TO CURRENT SCHOOL

STEP 5: STUDENT ASSESSMENT

Students applying to Grades 2–5 must take the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test/Stanford Achievement Test. We will offer small group testing to all applicants on January 7.

Please note: In-person testing is subject to change pending changing health guidelines.

Students applying to Grades 3-5 may instead take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Click HERE to register for the ISEE online.

  • Parent Statement
    Information about the Parent Statement can be found in the Admission Portal. Statements must be uploaded via the Admission Portal.
  • Application Form and Fee
    A fee of $60 must accompany each new application. A $15 late fee is added to applications received after January 2. Pay online via credit card using your Application Portal.
  • International Applicants: Please click HERE.

STEP 3: MIDDLE SCHOOL OR UPPER SCHOOL STUDENT VISIT

You may schedule your child’s visit to occur between October –January.

Your child may come to campus for an in-person shadow visit (Please note: In-person visits may become virtual as health guidelines dictate).

The Student Information Form must be submitted to the Admission Office two weeks prior to the visit.

There will be additional opportunities for applicants to get to know Park. These will be specific to each applicant’s interests. More information will be shared with students during their visits.

STEP 4: SEND FORMS TO CURRENT SCHOOL

Please note: A Common Referral Form is required from both the current Language Arts/English teacher and mathematics teacher.

STEP 5: STUDENT TESTING

If applying to Grades 6-12, a copy of an original score report for one of the following must be sent to the Admission Office:

  • The Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE)
  • The Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT)
  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

Click HERE to register for the ISEE online. Park will be hosting the ISEE on January 7 for Park applicants only. If testing at another location, please make sure to include Park’s school code, 210812, when registering.
