In addition to the daily activities (see sample schedules below) guided by our excellent camp leaders and counselors, Park faculty and activity guests enrich the camp experience by offering workshops in a variety of special programs, including Music and Movement, Nature Exploration, Sports and Games, Visual Arts, and Challenge Course Adventure. Campers will participate in each workshop 2-3 times during the week..
Music and Movement
Campers will immerse themselves in music and dance by learning new songs for lively sing-alongs and discovering how to make music using small instruments, such as tambourines, triangles, and xylophones. When not singing or making music, campers will learn basic dance moves with opportunities to participate in both guided and free dance activities with fellow campers.
Nature Exploration
During Nature Exploration, campers will venture into the woods for scavenger hunts, plant/tree identification, and active play. This program is designed to foster the camper’s sense of adventure outside of the classroom. Campers will create and take home a nature journal filled with their explorations and will have the opportunity to participate in arts and crafts made with natural materials.
Sports and Games
Participating in sports and games is a great way to learn about teamwork, good sportsmanship, and the importance of hard work — all while having fun! Campers will enjoy playing different sports, including basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and flag football. Playing together in teams, campers will learn game fundamentals, develop skills, and gain an overall understanding of each sport.
Visual Arts
The visual arts workshop engages campers in projects that expose them to new mediums (i.e. painting, drawing) each week. Campers will experiment with new techniques and use different features of Park’s campus as inspiration for their creative endeavors. At the end of the week, campers will participate in a gallery walk to celebrate their work.
Challenge Course Adventure
Our revamped Appalachian Challenge Course is reopening this summer, giving campers ample opportunity to build leadership skills while working together on group challenges. The Challenge Course gives students a great opportunity to push outside their comfort zone both physically and mentally. Note: The Challenge Course Adventure will only take place for campers 6 and older.
Daily Activities and Sample Schedules:
Cubs Den (ages 3 Ā½–5 Ā½)

Indoor activities include arts and crafts projects, music, and games.
In addition, Cubs will participate in specialty workshops each day (Music and Movement; Nature Exploration; Visual Arts; Sports and Games) to get a wide variety of experiences around Park’s beautiful campus.
