Samuel Chapin

Upper School History and Department Chair

Sam teaches history in the Upper School, both core courses, and electives, including History of Baltimore, and Race and Racism in Global Context. He is the chair of the department.

Before coming to Park, Sam taught history at Deerfield Academy, a co-ed boarding school in Massachusetts. There, he coached rowing, and served as a faculty advisor in a dorm.

Sam was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. He earned a B.A. in History from Williams College, and an M.S.Ed. from University of Pennsylvania.
