Sam Oshinsky ’08

Middle School Visual Arts

Sam teaches visual arts in Middle School. His 6th and 7th Grade classes focus on three dimensional and two dimensional art, and his 8th Grade electives range from ceramics, to art in nature, to object design and maker skills.

He frequently designs new classes to meet the interests of the rising 8th Grade. Through his role as an advisor and as a teacher of all Middle School students, Grades 6-8, Sam forges lasting relationships with students as they transition through Middle School.

A member of the Class of 2008, Sam taught art at Middle River Middle School, working with 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders prior to joining the faculty at Park. Sam earned a B.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Sculpture and an M.A.T. from Maryland Institute College of Art.

“I am passionate about helping students find and realize their own artistic goals. I love empowering students through teaching skills that will serve them well into their future. In my personal art practice, I am interested in furniture design, musical instrument making, and various forms of craft and art. My other interests include running, biking, cooking, and most of all, being a dad.”
