Cara Gamble
First Grade HomeroomCara teaches first grade homeroom, helping some of our youngest learners transition into the “big building.” She is the co-chair of the Lower School literacy department.
Cara’s primary focus as a professional has been on progressive, child-centered approaches to education. She worked in Reggio Emilia inspired schools for the first eight years of her career in education. After teaching Pre-K and Kindergarten, she became a reading specialist, coaching teachers and working with students in small groups. Later, Cara became a literacy lead, primarily coaching teachers in the area of literacy.
Cara earned a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Towson University, and an M.S. in Reading Education from Johns Hopkins. She is a certified Reading Specialist.
