Becky Bloom

Second Grade Homeroom

Becky is a second grade homeroom teacher. In her classroom, she loves to use games as a way to build community and support academic learning. Prior to second grade, Becky taught first grade at Park for 11 years. 

Becky has served on the Admission Committee to host and work with children applying to Park. She has served on Faculty Council, has been a representative for cross-divisional work in mathematics, and has led a team in Destination Imagination. In her time at Park, Becky has participated in a plethora of FACA’s and individual summer grants.

Becky has a B.S. in Clinical Psychology, with minors in Dance and Studio Art, from Towson University. Her master’s degree in special education focused on learning differences. She is trained in the Orton Gillingham approach to teaching literacy. Prior to Park, Becky worked with high school students with learning differences as a learning specialist. Additionally, she worked with elementary students with learning and behavioral challenges at the Forbush School for 10 years. She presented at the AIMS conference on Phonemic Awareness.

When she isn’t working, Becky loves to spend time practicing yoga, reading, cooking, creating art, and seeing live music. Becky admits to having a slight obsession with children’s literature and finding new games. She has two daughters who graduated from Park in the Classes of 2017 and 2020.
