Wed Jan 28: School Closed
Park will be closed on Wednesday, January 28, due to the conditions still affecting many areas throughout Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and beyond.
Campus will remain closed, and all activities canceled.
Assessments of conditions take place across a broad geographical area, and the situation in your neighborhood or on your route to/from school may differ from the rest of the region. The frigid temperatures we are experiencing have made for lingering unsafe conditions.
Prior to traveling to school on Thursday morning, please check for any announcements — text/email/website — and, as always, households should make the final decision about coming to school when road travel may be challenging.
Note: We have three snow days built in to our school calendar and we use them when needed to prioritize safety on roadways and on campus. With Wednesday’s closure, we will have used all three of our allotted snow days for this academic year.
In the event we need to close campus again, canceling the school day, we may implement alternative instructional plans for that day — namely, a virtual learning day.
If needed, our principals will communicate plans specific to each school division. Virtual learning days will not be full days of virtual classes but, rather, will be opportunities for guided work and check-ins for our students’ different ages and stages.
