After-School Music
The Park School offers both individual and group music lessons for students interested in developing their musical interests.
Individual lessons are available to students in Grades 1-12 to help students build their skills and musical creativity. Lessons are tailored to the needs and goals of each student, and include technique, musical theory, and performance skills. Our experienced faculty of professional musicians provides instruction on many different instruments, including piano, guitar, and drums, as well as wind and string instruments.
The Park School also partners with Common Tone to provide group music lessons to students in Grades 1-2 and Grades 3-5. Common Tone guides and inspires students to explore music with curiosity and confidence, and their classes are a great way for students to develop and expand their musical interests during the Lower School years.

Billing Information
Billing takes place in our CampBrain registration system. Families pay a deposit at registration with the remaining balance distributed across three payments that take place during the school year (September; November; February).
Scheduling Process
Upon registration, families complete a form that indicates their schedule, instrument, and teacher preferences. The following guidelines are used when making the schedule:
- Returning students are given scheduling preference priority over new students so long as they complete the registration process between August 12 and August 26.
- Younger students (Grades 1-2) are given scheduling preference priority for the earlier time slots (3:30 and 4 p.m.).
- The After-School Programs staff will share lesson placements and times with families by August 30, and lessons will begin the week of September 9.
Missed Lessons
- Parents are responsible for notifying their studentās music teacher and After-School Programs office if the student will be missing a lesson.
- Providing 24 hours notice is given, the lesson may be rescheduled. There are no refunds for missed lessons when no notice is given.
- A maximum of FOUR make-up lessons per year may be requested due to student-related causes (illness, travel, field trips, sports, etc.). Lessons will be rescheduled during the course of the academic year.
- If a student misses more than four lessons during the academic year, those lessons may be made up at the discretion of the teacher.
- Teachers will inform parents of opportunities during the year for students to sign up for make-up lessons.
- Lessons missed due to teacher-related causes (illness, performing obligations, etc.) will be made up at the first mutually convenient opportunity.
Refund Policy
- Once you have registered your child for private music lessons, you will have three lessons in which to decide whether you are going to continue with the purchased lesson package.
- If after the third lesson you decide not to continue, you will be financially responsible for the three lessons plus a $50 administrative fee. After the third lesson, you are financially responsible for the entire cost of the lesson package and no refunds will be given.
