Bruce W. Bryant

Bruce is the Pre-K-12 Music Chair, and teaches fourth and fifth grade general music, Lower School Chorus, Lower School Soundwaves, Middle School a cappella, and Upper School Vocal Chords, an Upper School a cappella group.

In previous years at Park, he has taught music to Kindergarten, Middle School Chorus, and several Upper School groups, including Madrigal, Wind Ensemble, and Tenor Bass a cappella.

Bruce has served on the school’s FACA committee and Faculty Council.

Outside of Park, he has taught music classes for the Children’s Chorus of Maryland, and was also the Artistic Director for that organization. He has been President of the local Kodály organization. He has presented several seminars in folk song repertoire to the local Kodály organization, and presented a seminar on teaching Medieval Music and Dance at the National Organization of American Kodály Educators (OAKE).

Bruce is an avid crafter. In addition to making Temari, an ancient Japanese art of creating geometric designs on a round surface, he is an expert in crocheting, and is learning to knit. He makes quilts and loves to bake. Playing Classical Guitar is a new found passion. Bruce lives with two cats, Apollo and Artemus.

Bruce has a B.S. in Music Education from West Chester University. There he was a Saxophone Major and earned certification to teach Vocal, Instrumental, and General music classes K-12. He has an M.M.Ed. with Kodály Emphasis from Holy Names University. Bruce is a member of the Voice Care Network, and has World Music Drumming certificates for Levels 1 and 2. He has studied Spanish Language in Guatemala, Mexico, and Nicaragua.
