Betsy Bright Gerding
Middle School Learning Resource TeacherBetsy is the Learning Resource Teacher for Middle School students — identifying, planning for, and engaging with students who need academic support. In this role, she also partners with faculty members in developing classroom approaches that serve all students’ learning needs.
She is a resource for students, teachers, and parents. Betsy serves as an Advoc8 Co-leader and teacher and is an advisor for Like Minds, a group of students in Middle and Upper Schools with learning differences who meet to support each other.
Betsy is a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist. For the majority of her professional career, she focused on language and cognition as they relate to reading, writing, learning, and communication. Before coming to Park, she worked at several schools for bright students with learning differences.
Betsy earned a B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, and an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Towson University. Betsy is the parent of two Park School students in the Classes of 2030 and 2033.
