Megan Ford
Director of Primary Level AdmissionMegan is the Director of Primary Level Admission and works with families who are applying for entry to Pre-Kindergarten through second grade.
Prior to her 21 years in the Admission Office, she spent 15 years teaching first grade at the school. Well-versed in the field of child development and progressive education, she is passionate about matching young students and their parents with Park.
As a lifelong learner and educator, Megan spent years teaching about gender bias and social responsibility, influencing the lives of students and colleagues not only at Park, but also at other AIMS and NAIS schools as well. Ever grateful for the multitude of opportunities for professional development, while working to research and write science curricula one summer through Park’s FACA program, she immersed herself in the relativity of form to function, which sparked the writing of a children’s book, Tools — to which current students continue to contribute!
Before her career at Park, Megan directed the Johns Hopkins Tutorial Project where she trained and matched hundreds of volunteer tutors to work with Baltimore City Public School students from Grades 1-5 to build reading and math skills. Later, after stepping into the role of a classroom teacher for five years at another Independent school in the Baltimore area, she found her place at Park.
Megan earned her B.A. in Elementary Education with a concentration in French from Goucher College. She is the parent of two Park alumni in the Classes of 2006 and 2011.
