Boys’ Head Varsity/JV Cross Country Coach

The Position

The Park School Athletic Department is seeking candidates for a part-time Head Coach position working with the Boys’ Varsity/JV Cross Country Program for the fall 2021.


• Coaching and running experience at the high school and/or collegiate level (preferred)
• Ability to work with and motivate students of all skill levels
• Punctuality at practices and meets
• Consistent attendance at practices and meets


Including but not limited to:

  • Supporting school policies, including but not limited to: sportsmanship, integrity, accountability, dedication, and effort
  • Maintaining the school’s progressive philosophy throughout the season, and developing and teaching programmatic systems consistent with the entire cross-country program
  • Working in association with Athletic Trainer in event of injury
  • Representing Park School at MIAA League meetings
  • Planning and managing practices
  • Traveling to/from away meets with team
  • Serving as mentor & role-model to current students
  • Participation and attendance at parent/coaches meetings as well as all other pre-season coaches’ meetings
  • Guiding student-athletes through collegiate recruiting process
  • Maintaining and exemplifying appropriate conduct towards officials, opposing coaches, and runners
