The Performing Arts program endeavors to promote a balance between process and performance. There is an emphasis on student creativity, but all courses, both production and process, are designed to include learning of techniques. The curriculum offers in-depth courses, which include theory, composition, history, beginning and advanced acting techniques, instrumental ensembles, performance and recording groups, a large chorus, and small, select choral groups. Major productions include a fall musical, a student-directed winter play, and a serious or comedic production in the spring. Certain upper level courses require a materials fee.

The Visual Arts program affirms our belief that creativity is a natural component of the emerging personality, worthy of development and educational attention. To that end, and in conjunction with the Performing Arts, students in the 9th grade are required to take arts for the full year. Following that, a broad range of electives offers study of greater depth in a particular medium or discipline. Advanced study is available in several areas and independent study, which can be arranged individually each term, is available to students who wish to work in an area outside the normal curriculum. Students are encouraged to record their ideas in journals and to assemble portfolios containing a history of their creative accomplishments. Certain upper level courses require a materials fee.
